German 1
Teacher: Juliana Moore
Description: Did you know that German is the most widely spoken language in Europe, or that German is the second-most widely used language on the internet?  In German 1, students will learn skills that help them communicate about various topics by becoming familiar with language that mirrors teenagers’ everyday lives in German-speaking countries.  Students will be exposed to numerous real-life situations and will make comparisons between the cultures of German-speaking countries and our own. Students will learn relevant vocabulary and grammar and begin to learn how to listen, speak, read, and write in the German language. For success, German 1 students should already possess a basic understanding of the parts of speech in the English language, such as: subjects, verbs, adjectives, nouns, pronouns, direct and indirect objects, and prepositions.
